Your attention is drawn to the fact that the mentioned meetings need to take place at Infra depots on a bi-weekly basis as opposed to movement and yard depots that must meet weekly. Your closest co-operation in this regard is of paramount importance.

Train Movement Agreement
Recently several meetings have been held between UTATU SARWHU and TFR Management regarding the progression of the Movement Agreement. UTATU SARWHU have been very upfront by contesting that our members have been prejudiced by Management who have not honoured the addendum to the initial agreement, that resulted in learning material not being available for members to progress beyond the 50th percentile in especially the C category.
Special Tre: NBC: Coach Business
Management called an Urgent Special National Business Committee Meeting with Labour on 30 October 2012 to discuss the Coach Business. During the Presentation Management indicated their client PRASA Rail has informed them that Coach rebuilds was no longer a necessity for them inline with them wanting new Coaches build as from 2013, that the current requirement is only for light repairs. The effect of this is that Transnet Rail Engineering finds itself with excess staff at the following Plants: - Koedoespoort and Durban.
Artisan Agreement
A meeting was held on 10 October 2011, with the view of settling the above dispute. Various proposal were made, however to date, no agreement has been reached. UTATU has requested an urgent follow-up meeting with Management in this regard. Members will be kept informed of any new developments.
