Extension Of Recruitment Fee
During the recently held meeting of the Executive Council, it was decided that the one hundred rand (R100.00) currently being paid for recruiting new members, be extended to 28 February 2013. The five hundred rand (R500.00) bonus paid for every 20 members recruited will also remain as is for this period. This decision has been taken as a token of appreciation to our loyal members who continue to recruit new and non unionized members. Please accept our sincere gratitude for your hard work; it is truly appreciated.
UTATU SARWHU FTUR: Dan Teboho Khumalo
Rumours are doing the rounds that Comrade Dan Teboho Khumalo has deserted this Union by taking up a Management position. These rumours are totally unfounded and NOT true as Comrade Dan is still our Representative and available to be of service to members. Be assured that UTATU SARWHU, will, as in the past; keep our membership updated on any/all developments that might have an effect in anyway whatsoever on our members.
General Secretary: Mr SA Harris
The General Secretary, Mr Harris will be on sick leave as from 12 September 2012 until 24 October 2012. Please take cognizance that Mr Louis Brockett will be acting as the General Secretary and all correspondence should be referred to the acting General Secretary. We trust that everyone will assist in this regard.
New Hope In Gautrain Crisis
Late today, 24th July, in a bid to head off industrial action, Bombela, the company that operates the Gautrain, tabled a new pay offer to UTATU SARWHU, the trade union that represents most of its 400 employees. G
Funeral Benefit
UTATU SARWHU has again taken a further step forward in making more affordable benefits available to our members. Further funeral benefits are now available to members through Assupol at Crescendo Financial Services as indicated on the attached presentation.
