Local Business Committees (Lbc)

During a recent meeting of the Strategic Leadership Forum (SLF) it was brought to our attention that the above meetings were not taking place at various workplaces on a monthly basis as stipulated in the Recognition Agreement (RA). Mr. Brian Molefe, Group Chief Executive of Transnet immediately instructed that these LBC meetings must take place on a regular basis as determined in the RA; and that feedback in this regard needs to be given during the next meeting of the SLF which is set down for 30September, 2011.

Nomination And Election Of Alternate Executive Councilor For The Maritime Sector: Western Zone

Nomination And Election Of Alternate Executive Councilor For The Maritime Sector: Western Zone

Due to unforeseen circumstances the nomination which was received did not constitute a proper nomination in terms of the Constitution. The Constitution is quite clear that only a Sector i.e. Maritime can nominate and elect Executive Council Members and Alternates for their Sector. It is therefore necessary to declare the nomination and election of the Alternate Executive Council for the Maritime Sector Western Zone null and void. We will be posting the nomination form to all the Branch Chairman and Branch Secretaries of the Maritime Sector: Western Zone via registered post on 08 September 2011.

T-Shirts

T-Shirts

As of late, numerous T-shirts that we have posted to members have been sent back to UTATU Head-Office because the members have not collected the item from the Post Office. Members are kindly requested to collect these items from the Post Office when receiving notice from the Post Office as UTATU is now incurring wasteful costs being required to pay for the return cost. We would rather invest money in the membership than to pay unnecessary cost on return post where items are not being collected. Your closest co-operation in this regard is urgently requested, while we sincerely thank you for your loyalty towards UTATU.
