Recognition: National Transport Movement (NTM)
NTM declared a dispute with Transnet Rail Engineering in regards to Recognition. The Conciliation was held this morning at the Transnet Bargaining Council. As UTATU SARWHU and SATAWU we requested to be joined in dispute as we have an interest in terms of the Labour Relations Act. The dispute was thus with drawn by NTM as the Transnet Bargaining Council lacked jurisdiction to deal with the dispute in terms of Section 21 of the Labour Relations Act. They have however indicated that they will now refer the dispute to the CCMA.

This is a slap in our face, we want to inform members to make Shosholoza Meyl viable we will have to engage with Management in the very near future on serious matters which will also impact on your Conditions of Service.
