A virtual meeting via Teams was held with Mr Zolani Mathews – Group CEO PRASA and his team today (28 April 2021) at 13h00.

The PRASA Management Team confirmed that they signed the Wage  Agreement in good faith and are still committed to this Agreement, they also further requested the opportunity to explore all avenues to ensure that  the increment to the employees is paid as soon as possible.

Mr Mathews confirmed that appointments are set up with the Director General of Transport and the Director General of Treasury within the next few days to obtain the necessary funding for the 2021 Wage Increase.

Management requested that UNTU’s legal team give them the opportunity until the 7th of May 2021 to obtain the funding and refrain from the urgent labour court intervention in this case.
