PRASA ORGANIZATIONAL RIGHTS: DEBACLE – Who is pulling wool over the others eyes?

PRASA ORGANIZATIONAL RIGHTS: DEBACLE – Who is pulling wool over the others eyes?

The attached letter PRASA.039 A from PRASA Corporate is once again confirming that PRASA is undermining Labour in the verification process.

UNTU wants to state it categorically that we do not agree with the process as contained in the attached letter from PRASA. Clauses (a), (b) & (c) confirms that PRASA in isolation continuous with the verification process.

UNTU was sighted by the CCMA in the dispute process and we are adamant that we must be part of the verification process until the finalization of the verification exercise. The CCMA   will be informed that UNTU sees the dispute process as unresolved and will request that the dispute be reopened under the auspices of the CCMA to engaged on the matter and to protect our interest in this regard.

UNTU demands that this process must be formalised and demands to become part of the verification exercise under the auspices of the CCMA in terms of the CCMA rules for the conduct of proceedings before the CCMA.

Furthermore, all members must please take note of the closing clause (last clause) of the attached letter as quoted below:

“Any meetings that have been held and/or may still be held with NTM, or any other union that seeks recognition within PRASA, have not been held and/or will not be held in contravention of or for the purpose of undermining the Constitution of the Bargaining Forum or granting organizational rights to that union;”

Any breach of the above stipulated clause must be reported to UNTU Head Office with the particulars of the specific Manager who authorized such a meeting at the workplace.

Your assistance in closely monitoring such actions will be highly appreciated.

We will keep you informed of developments.
