PRASA: INTRODUCTION OF EIGHT (8) NEW POLICIES

PRASA: INTRODUCTION OF EIGHT (8) NEW POLICIES

PRASA Management introduced 8 Policies with effect as from
6 September 2022, without any prior consultation with Labour.

Thus, Labour declared a Dispute under Clause 64.4 of the
Labour Relations Act (LRA). Members must be rest assured
that UNTU will not hesitate to pursue any legal avenue that is
available to us as Labour from preventing Prasa to implement
or execute anything that may be detrimental to our members.

Prasa has on previous occasions attempted to bypass the
relevant consultative forums to implement things without
following meaningful consultation processes, UNTU will not
tolerate such behaviour.

Be assured that Labour is “one” in this dispute and will fight this, till Management respect and
treat Labour as equal partners in Prasa.

The Eight (8) Policies that was introduced is as follows: –
1. Policy on Competency Management
2. Policy on Employment Equity
3. Policy on Human Factors Management
4. Policy on Overtime
5. Policy on Package Structure
6. Policy on Relocation
7. Policy on Terminations
8. Policy on Volunteerism

This is a sad day in the history of Prasa but be assured that UNTU will keep you abreast of
any developments.

UNTU Greetings.

Deputy General Secretary
Obo C VAN VUUREN
