CONGRATULATIONS TO EDUCATION BURSARY CANDIDATES

The United National Transport Union (UNTU) is proud to announce the names of the children of ten of our members who have been grated our annual educational bursaries for 2017.

The candidates had to apply before the end of November 2016. UNTU’s Management Committee granted the education bursaries on merit.

Steve Harris, General Secretary of UNTU, says the Union considers its educational bursaries to children as our investment in the future of our country. “We would like to congratulate each candidate and ask them to make the most of the opportunity the bursary gives them.

“Through education South Africa can develop a new generation of leaders who will ensure that our country remains globally competitive and grow the economy for the benefit of all South African. If we continue to develop our skills, we will be able to create more jobs so that one day all South Africa may be able to earn a decent living wage,” says Harris.

He repeated the famous words of our beloved Madiba. “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world,” former President Nelson Mandela said.
