UNTU’S DEDICATES WORKERS DAY 1 MAY 2020 TO OUR ESSENTIAL SERVICES MEMBERS

The Leadership of United National Transport Union (UNTU) dedicates this year’s celebrations of WORKERS DAY to all those employees who sacrificed their safety and that of their loved ones in what is our greatest challenge as a democratic country to date.

Thanks to the hard work and commitment of our members in TRANSNET and the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) who were compelled to report for duty, all South African’s had access to essential goods and food during the lockdown to combat the spreading of the COVID-19 pandemic.

These UNTU members also kept our frail economy going by ensuring that essential commodities like oil, diesel, petroleum and coal to keep Eskom’s light on, reach the outskirts of the country.

“We salute you.”

Esteemed greetings,

SA Harris

GENERAL SECRETARY
