Our previous circular letter: REF.CL.PRASA.215, dated 06-10-2022 refers.
UNTU and its legal team has been continuously following up on the Labour Court judgement that we have been waiting for from Judge AJ Sibanda who heard the matter in the Labour Court regarding Prasa’s failure to comply with the Salary Agreement that was signed in 2020.
The Judge President, the highest authority in the Labour Court, has now engaged with Judge AJ Sibanda regarding the Labour Court ruling on this dispute.
We have attached the communication received from the Labour Court in this regard to this circular letter – Click on link for communication letter http://www.untu.co.za/assets/PRASA.215.1-A-J996-21-UNTU-obo-Members-v-PRASA-letter-to-Parties-dated-01.12.22.pdf
Even though we have not received the ruling yet, the fact that the Judge President has engaged with Judge AJ Sibanda, who is supposed to provide the Labour Court ruling, signifies a “light at the end of the tunnel”, at least now Judge AJ Sibanda will be experiencing some pressure from the Judge President to provide the ruling.
Members will be kept abreast of any further developments as the process unfolds.
Esteemed greetings,
C van Vuuren
UNTU GENERAL SECRETARY
