D-DAY FOR TRANSNET LEAVE DISPUTE: 1 APRIL 2017

D-DAY FOR TRANSNET LEAVE DISPUTE: 1 APRIL 2017

The United National Transport Union (UNTU) would like to remind all members, affected by the December 2015/January 2016 Transnet Leave Dispute, to submit their written submissions by 1 April 2017.

Affected UNTU members who do not comply, by e-mailing their submissions on time to enquiries@untu.co.za, will forfeit the right to do so in terms of the judgement of the Labour Court in Johannesburg.

A Joint Task Team has been established in terms of the judgement to deal with the affected employees.

This comes after Judge Connie Prinsloo, ruled in November last year that Transnet breached the terms of a collective agreement, when it unilaterally forced employees in low operational divisions to take leave over the December 2015 to January 2016 Festive Season.

Issued on behalf of UNTU by Sonja Carstens, Media and Liaison Officer. For UNTU Press Releases e-mail sonja@untu.co.za or phone 082 463 6806.
