During the Presentation Management indicated their client PRASA Rail has informed them that Coach rebuilds was no longer a necessity for them inline with them wanting new Coaches build as from 2013, that the current requirement is only for light repairs. The effect of this is that Transnet Rail Engineering finds itself with excess staff at the following Plants: – Koedoespoort and Durban.
